One thing I wondered about 2001: Space Odyssey is its cinematography, it’s space sets and the way they narrated which were ahead of it times and you can’t imagine this movie released in 1968. The screenplay is very slow and the astonishing feel vanishes after a while you sense it. What survives our curiosity ? The feed what Stanley Kubrick’s direction gave our minds. The movie is based on the short story of Arthur C Clarke “The Sentinel”.
Many parts of sequences seems to silent without much dialogues, some places only with heavy music. The film describes about the evolution of being in different period of times. Millions of years ago apes sees a monolithic stone and gets its understanding that a bone as weapon , the movie scene cuts there and reopens on the satellite which in turn explains the future weapon.
The climax seems to be puzzled the first time you watch. But evolution is a process of mankind had been explained in the end, the scientists becomes foetus and travels in transparent orbit of light and the movie ends there. There are sequences when the HAL computer becomes problematic and explains about it’s twin computer failure and the scenes around it were well narrated.
